Freeform has set Monday, February 25 for the midseason return of the third and final season of its fantasy drama series Shadowhunters.source: deadline
The remainder of Season 3 picks up with everyone trying to move on as they deal with the loss of Clary. Per Freeform’s official description: Unbeknownst to them, the Shadowhunters face a new level of evil that they can’t even imagine with the arrival of Jonathan Morgenstern (Luke Baines), the true form of Clary’s brother.
With the loss of Clary after Lilith’s apartment exploded, Alec, Isabelle and Jace try to come to terms with what has happened. Glad to have their brother back, Alec and Isabelle are still worried about Jace, who is taking the actions of The Owl very hard. Magnus is also mourning the loss of his magic and finds himself in a new position—having to rely on others for help.
Meanwhile, Maia tries to help a devastated Simon who has lost his family and his best friend. But unknown to everyone, Clary is alive and finds herself in a new and dangerous predicament.
Katherine McNamara stars as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway, Alisha Wainwright as Maia Roberts, and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane. Shadowhunters, which airs at 8 PM, is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, McG, Matt Hastings, Mary Viola, Martin Moszkowicz and Robert Kulzer.
Jace (Dominic Sherwood) thinks he sees Jonathan (Will Tudor) outside The Hunter’s Moon in this season 3 episode 1 deleted scene. Shadowhunters season 3B premieres February 25, on Freeform!
Katherine McNamara officially enters the Arrow ring — or cage, as it may be — in TVLine’s first, exclusive photo from her debut on the CW series.
As TVLine previously reported, the Shadowhunters star will fill a pivotal Season 7 role as Maya, a scrappy street fighter and thief from Star City. The initial — and unofficial — casting notice for the character, who first appears in the Monday, Dec. 3 episode, titled “Unmasked,” likened her to “Buffy the Superhero Slayer.” Check out the full photo below, of Maya getting ready to slug it out with a brute.
Elsewhere in Monday’s episode, Felicity stands by her recent decisions regarding her family, while Diggle and Lyla continue to look into the Dante painting that Curtis found.
In addition to her run as human/angel hybrid Clary Fray on Freeform’s Shadowhunters (which will premiere its very final batch of episodes on Feb. 25), McNamara’s previous TV credits include The Fosters, MTV’s Happyland miniseries, Kickin’ It and Unforgettable (where she played a young Poppy Montgomery). On the big screen, she reprised her role of Sonya in the third installment of The Maze Runner trilogy, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, which opened earlier this year.
